This model is detected by the existing "ural" driver but not handled
correctly:

ural0 at uhub2 port 1
ural0: SMC 802.11g Wireless USB Adapter, rev 2.00/10.00, addr 2
ural0: could not read MAC register: STALLED
ural0: could not read EEPROM: STALLED
ural0: could not read EEPROM: STALLED
ural0: could not read EEPROM: STALLED
ural0: could not read EEPROM: STALLED
ural0: MAC/BBP RT2570 (rev 0x00), RF RT2524, address 00:00:00:00:00:00

I don't expect an immediate solution but I'm posting this to tech@ in
case it saves anybody else from buying one before the driver is ready.

It works under weendows(tm) so it's not DOA. At least to the point of
being recognized and showing a list of networks to join.

could you show us the MAC address which is used in windows?

some windows/linux drivers are using a 'default' MAC address if EEPROM
access had failed.

Gladly, it's:

ian:4$ cat /shared/smc.txt
C:> ipconfig/all
<snip>
Ethernet adapter Wireless Network Connection 3:

Media State . . . . . . . . . . . : Media disconnected
Description . . . . . . . . . . . : SMC2862W-G EZ Connect g
802.11g Wire
less USB 2.0 Adapter
Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : 00-04-E2-ED-E2-F8
ian:5$

I left the ipconfig/all in in case anybody else needs to know how to get
device driver hardware information under Windows XP.
